City of Porto
Located on the north-west coast of Portugal, Porto is the second largest city in Portugal. Built in a hillside of the Douro River overlooking its mouth, Porto has a two thousand years history, backing to the Roman times.
Since 1996, the Historic Centre of Porto is UNESCO World Heritage.
Awarded Best City Destination in Europe (World Travel Awards) for several times, Porto is a historic and lively European city. In the last decades, the city has experienced a renewal of transportation and cultural infrastructures and of urban life. Visitors can enjoy renowned museums, cultural events in concert halls or theater venues, restaurants serving the local cuisine and a vibrant nightlife. There are also several blue flag awarded Atlantic beaches within the city limits.

Finally, a few notes you might want to consider:
Terraces. Porto’s terraces stretch along picturesque streets, scenic viewpoints, riverside quays, and beach cafés. Here, over a coffee or a glass of wine, you can truly feel the spirit of the city – always alive with music, the hum of conversation, and the gentle Atlantic breeze.
Museums and Monuments. Porto’s charming ancient architecture blends seamlessly with modern culture. Climb the Clérigos Tower, or the Super Bock Arena dome, cross the Dom Luís I Bridge, or visit one of the city’s many parks, museums, and architectural landmarks.
Port Wine Cellars. Port wine is one of Porto’s most famous and cherished products. With a variety of producers, you can visit the cellars, enjoy wine tastings, and explore a range of scents and flavours. Walk throug the Dom Luís I Bridge, and you’ll find numerous cellars at the riverside, open for visitors.
Food. Francesinha is one of Porto’s icons and there are more and more vegetarian alternatives. Other classics include Caldo Verde, Tripas à Moda do Porto, several cod dishes and fresh seafoods. For some fish delicacies, take a detour to Matosinhos, a neighbour town. Don´t forget to indulge yourself with a Pastel de Nata, or try some regional pastries.
